Some say it’s the incredible smell of charbroiling meat that attracts them. Others claim it’s the big smiles they get from the staff. Other folks praise the 100% natural grass-fed Angus beef in every Mojo Burger, 100% natural free-range chicken sandwiches, the award-winning fries, wonderfully delicious beer-battered golden onion rings and organic milkshakes from Straus Family Creamery in Petaluma, CA.
There is one factor that every Mojo Burger customer seems to agree on – that there is nothing else on this planet like a Mojo Burger. For flavor, taste, texture and freshness, it’s the ultimate burger. No matter whom you are or where you’re from, you’ll always remember your first time at Mojo Burger – and that’s why you’ll be coming back again and again.
Peter Favre is the creator of Mojo Burger. Raised on the North Shore of Kauai and Oahu, Hawaii, Peter grew up in and around the tourist industry. After a stint as a tour boat owner-operator on the Napali coast of Kauai and after considering a career as a professional surfer, Favre ventured to Northern California to seek fame and fortune. As a former graduate of McDonald’s Hamburger University in Oak Brook, Illinois, Peter was a rising star for the fast food giant and worked for the golden arches for 12 years.
One of the great things about the 12 years Peter worked for McDonald’s was that during that time he met his wife, Carole, whom he married in 1992. Carole is now known as Mrs. Mojo, and has been an integral part of Mojo’s success from day one. With three generations working at Mojo, including Mrs. Mojo, Grandma Mojo, Auntie Mojo and Mojo Niece, you can rest assured that you’ll always get the type of personal customer service you won’t find at any of the corporate burger chains.
After looking at several possible food-related business ventures, Carole and Peter decided to take the hamburger to the next level. They knew that people were tired of .99 cent microwaved burgers and wanted something that was high-quality and great tasting.
100% Natural Angus beef uses no antibiotics, preservatives or added hormones. It is more expensive to raise and feed these cattle, and the end result shows it. This beef is more tender and doesn’t retain water. You also won’t feel all filled up after eating it, because it’s grass-fed beef that’s super lean without sacrificing flavor.
Many people comment about the unique décor at Mojo Burger. They like the airy, surf feel, the flat screen TV’s, (one for the adults and another for the children at kid’s eye level in the special kid’s seating area with little red picnic benches); the open kitchen and the surf memorabilia on the walls, including photos of Peter surfing some of the world’s biggest waves. It all adds up to being a place that makes customers feel laid back and relaxed. It’s like going to the Islands without ever leaving San Jose.
